If you are an avid gardener, the Slot Down Compost Bin allows you to make use of your kitchen scraps.

The slot down design makes accessing your compost much easier than a regular bin. This composter holds approximately 650L of green waste and the rustic nature of the rough sawn boards mean it will blend in well with any garden setting. All timber used has been pressure treated to give a 15-year guarantee against rot and fungal decay, which is essential when in contact with moisture.

If you would like to extend your composter, why not use the Slot Down Compost Bin Extension Kit to add one, or more, bin sections.

  • Delivered to you flat packed with easy to follow step-by-step instructions and all the fixings you need for a simple build.
  • Dimensions (cm): 82 x 106 x 106cm

Avoid like the plague by Mike W on 9 September 2017

What the product info doesn't tell you is the posts need to be buried 375mm into the ground, which is almost impossible in the hardcore-permeated green patch behind my house, resulting in me having to saw some of the posts. I bought a bin and two extensions. The screws are in plastic bags, along with the instructions, stapled to the boards. Predictably, one set had come off in transit and were lost. Worse, some dimwit had decided to put the staples through the instructions, letting the rain in the bags and creating holes in the instructions, so that when you remove them, you get unreadable shreds. But far worse is the total absence of quality control on the product itself. The slot down boards are not cut to size consistently, so many don't fit in the slots (those that do jam in so you have zero chance of removing to get at the compost). Some have knot holes, one was 7 inches long, which just fell apart when I tried to slot it down. Some boards are bowed. So after several hours, using only the thinnest boards, I have three sides of one bin complete. It's the 21st century and you can't cut wood to size? This is awful at any price and criminal at the price I paid. If you have even modest measuring and woodworking skills, you would be better off buying (much cheaper) raw materials or pallets and building your own. If you have no skills at all, you have no chance of putting these together anyway. Avoid.
